Sharing The News

We wanted to share our wonderful news in creative ways... and not just a phone call.

We found out I was pregnant on a Wednesday... that Saturday I was going out of town for one of my greatest friend's bachelorette party. I knew I would have to tell them the news since.. well I wouldn't be able to drink. Me saying that I just didn't feel like drinking... wouldn't cut it.

So... I had two days to figure out how we were going to tell our parents the news before I left on Saturday morning.

Colby's Mom, Step Dad & Brother- We were having a birthday dinner that Thursday for Colby's step dad... so it was perfect! As his birthday present we got a LARGE present bag and filled it with blue and pink balloons. When he opened up the bag... they came floating up. After they came out, a balloon that was a baby popped out. It was priceless. Check out the video!

Colby's Dad- While in the ocean with his dad... Colby casually turned to him and told him I was pregnant. He just couldn't wait!!!

My Mom- I ordered a flower arrangement with blue and pink flowers.... we went to her house and I quickly parked at the neighbors house and ran the arrangement to her front door. We went into the back and I told my mom that there was something on her steps. She was like, "What?!?! Who would leave flowers?!?!?" She was clueless!!!!!! She went to the front door and brought the arrangement inside. She opened the card an it read....
"I can't wait to meet you in April Grammy! Love, Baby B"
It took her a second and then she screamed!! It was great! I took a video, but she would kill me if I posted it :-)

My Dad- I had to write my dad a check... Colby & I went to his house to give it to him. Instead of giving him the real check, I have him one that had...
My due date on the date line
The to line said Poppop
The amount XO.XO hugs and kisses
an signed it Baby B
At first, he took it and didn't even look... so I had to tell him to make sure I wrote the correct date on the check (One time I wrote the wrong year.. so it was something that wasn't uncommon lol). He looked at the dad and told me that I wrote it wrong again! After he looked for antother second... he got it!!!!!!

My Sister & Brother- They were both together at a family dinner when I got to share the news with them.... my sister is recently engaged so I wanted to include that in the announcement. I had a "Wedding Fund" jar that was given to me when we were wedding planning... I gave that to her and told her there was a note inside with wedding advice inside. I gave her a sweet message and signed it Love, Jill, Colby & Baby B. It took her a moment... and then she SCREAMED and shared what was written on the note!
